Swing Dancing is a partner dance that was developed by Afro American people in the beginning of the 20s century. It’s a very joyful partner dance, which is based on leading and following moves and improvising to the music (Jazz/Swing Music). It is light, cheerful, elevates your mood and makes it easy to connect with other people.

This is a collaboration and co-creation between Marcus and Loulii. Using a combination of vocal toning and sound frequencies, conscious connected breathing and breath holding, the intention of this workshop is to activate each of the body's main energy centres (chakras) and open up the flow of energy through the central channel, creating a connection with source.

Yoga & Journaling are two powerful practices that allow for introspection & understanding of the self. Allowing us to reflect on our experiences, identify patterns, and gain insights into our strengths, weaknesses, and areas for growth. Combined together we achieve a clearer & deeper reflection on whats going on deep within. In this session we start with an intention you will be prompted to focus on throughout, we will breath, connect, flow, open our heart, journal, release and just allow whats meant to unfold and be come higher & clearer into our consciousness. And as we write and see it on paper maybe we are more motivated to take action to whats calling to & upon us today.

Are presence and charisma elements, that if disassembled can be practiced and thus develop our awareness and performance abilities?In this workshop, Salam Yousry prepares a group of exercises that help participants develop self-awareness, awareness of space, awareness of other participants in the scene/performance, and awareness of the character being performed; all by focusing on “presence” as the topic of the meeting. This is through a curriculum collected and tested over the years that makes use of various techniques: from improvisation, storytelling, acting and working from a written text, through dialects/pronunciation and sound space to silent performance and physical expression. This workshop is open to all participants; experience in performance is not required.

One of the meanings of “gong fu” is to put time and effort in the practice of a specific skill. When practicing gong fu the practitioner focuses all their intention on reaching their goal. It is an excellent way to improves one’s body, patience, will and intention force. Practicing Shaolin fundamentals or Shaolin jiben gong 少林基本 helps to improve the practitioner’s body structure. The Shaolin forms not only help to reinforce the muscles and the tendons, but also improves one’s movements and motions coordination. This leads to the discovery of the old essentials of traditional Gong Fu, with all its philosophy. Since Shaolin gong fu was an important root to martial arts, many of its basics are common to other styles. It allows the student to adapt to any kind of training regardless of the style.

This session is an individual and group movement experience. It is a reminder to awaken in our bodies the playfulness, enjoyment, strength, the ability to go beyond our thoughts and let our bodies express themselves. Dancing from the individual and collective inspiration. Feeling how the community strengthens and exalts our dances. What do I feel when I observe the movement of others? What moves me about the other body? How can I support his/her dance so that the other continues to enjoy it? The body, the gaze, the listening and our presence as anchors of joy, safety and trust in the group. May our bodies be free to move closer and further away from the others, without obligation to remain in the dance. This session is a moment of dialog, respect, listening and freedom of our dances.

Al-Tuyoor: Messages from the Birds is a Fantasy Fusion solo show by Rawan Roshni, combining Music, Poetry and Theatre, in a trilingual fantasy fusion between English, Arabic, and Animal. In this dynamic, artful experience, Rawan uses the looper machine to create sound-scapes, which she then layers with her soulful voice that has stirred hearts worldwide. Al-Tuyoor (Arabic for birds) are her allies, delivering messages through her, as she herself takes on the character of the big bird, traversing the skies and landing on earth to do the work of revealing truths. She has presented this show at The Perfumed Garden (Gocek, Turkey), the Library of Alexandria (Egypt), Al-Mashini Theatre (Amman, Jordan) and The Conference of the Birds (Yaniklar, Turkey). Her costume, set design, and lighting lead the audience into an altered state of consciousness, where dreams, visions, emotions, and imagination are expansive, inviting all dimensions to be explored.

Handbuilding is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools. The more you blend and shape it, the more it relaxes you. And the final result gives you a high sense of self-esteem and pride in your creation.
