Shereen Malak
Psychotherapist & teacher

Hello, I`mShereen Malak

Shereen Malak is the founder and director of Ardi, a holistic retreat center nestled in a palm grove adjacent to the Dahshur Pyramids on Cairo’s outskirts. She obtained a Summa Cum Laude BA and an MA in Sociology from the American University in Washington D.C, and subsequently managed her family’s food production business, introducing organic dairy products to the Egyptian market. Married to a Spanish diplomat, she wandered the world for twelve years, and meanwhile became the mother of two girls. During a posting in Buenos Aires she began studying body-centered counseling, completing the three-year training and a master’s program. In 2009 she attended the Snowlion School in Switzerland, a training in Energy Healing and Psychodynamic counseling inspired by the Barbara Brennen School of Healing. With 17 years of experience as a psychotherapist, Shereen’s body-centered journey continues; she recently became a somatic experiencing practitioner, and is currently a teaching assistant. Shereen’s deepest wish is to facilitate the optimization of the experience of life, as actualized in her daily work, including at Ardi, a gathering place devoted to knowledge-sharing, healing and harmony. She believes that everyone is their own best healer, and that when nourished by/allowed a loving, safe non-judgmental environment people will turn towards the light, remember themselves, and at their own pace become whole again.
