Regenerative Horticulturist
Hello, I`mLidia Rivas
Born in Guatemala, my passion for nature has been a lifelong companion. I began by exploring the mechanisms of the natural world independently, driven by an innate curiosity. This led me to pursue university studies in Environmental Science, but after a couple of years, I felt the need for a more direct and engaging experience.
So I decided to embark on a journey to discover the world, an adventure that allowed me to experience different cultures and come into contact with permaculture through various volunteer experiences. It was during this time that I discovered food fermentation, a true revelation that transformed into a deep passion. I deepened my study of this ancient art by attending courses in Italy and online.
During my travels, I met Davide, with whom I shared my passion for exploration and discovery. Together we continued to travel the world, becoming parents to three wonderful children. Over the years, we have deepened our knowledge of permaculture, self-sufficiency, and regenerative agriculture, striving to live in harmony with nature.
In 2022, we decided to make a more concrete change to our lifestyle, starting a small vegetable garden with the aim of growing much of our own food. We dedicated ourselves to beekeeping, fermentation, wild herb gathering, and creating homemade herbal products. Our commitment is to minimize our environmental impact, raise our children in a healthy environment, and pass on our love of nature through homeschooling.
Our outreach project is called "La Era Nuova" (The New Era) and you can find it at www.laeranuova.com and social media. With this project, we wish to share our knowledge and inspire others to embark on a path of self-sufficiency, promoting fermentation, regenerative horticulture, and respect for the environment. We firmly believe that a return to nature and a more sustainable lifestyle is the key to a better future.
